Texture Definitions

Texture: 

Googles meaning: The feel, appearance or consistency of a surface or a substance.

My own meaning: When something is textured it means that you can physically touch it and it has a certain feel to it, whether it is rough or it is smooth. You can also see the texture of an object just by looking at it, this is given to us by light whether it's sunlight or just a normal house light.

For example this image is clearly textured as when you look at it, you automatically know what it would feel like. Due to the cracks in the wood, it would feel rough and not smooth. This is the texture of the cracked wood.
