I like the simplicity of this image because naturally this image is spiraling stairs, however pattern is clearly shown here through the image of the shot as it shows how further down the stairs are the closer they look like they are getting, this creates an effect to the eye of the viewer as they follow the stairs into the middle. The reason this is inspiring for the element of pattern is because I like the way the repeated design is show so simply. Even though on my shoot for pattern I will not be able to get an image like this in town, I find this inspirational for later images as well .
Another image I chose for inspiration is this image on the right. The reason I like the image is because through man made objects patterns are very clear, the repeated pattern of the bikes is made clear, alongside this the black and white compliments the pattern even more so as colour is no distraction.
This is another example of how man made objects can be used in patterns, yet not purposely. The main reason I like this image is purely down to the use of focus and how only one sign is in focus, as if the photographer is saying
You don't need to clearly see the others as you already know what they are.
I believe this is a good idea to portray pattern as the viewer would be forced to followed the pattern around the image.
Furthermore, I chose this image as one to include because I like had the pattern of the shapes change on each row. In the middle there is a clear circle then a circled row of triangles followed by a row of trapeziums. The reason I like this is because it draws the eye in, personally if I were to recreate this image I would make it so there was an object in the middle rather than a circle because that would mean the pattern would lead the viewers eye to the certain object.
This is a key example of natures simplicity of pattern within an image of a butterfly. If it were possible I would like to take an image of a butterflies wings because I believe the patterns on them are purely beautiful to look at. However as there isn't that many butterflies here my chances might be slim. Another reason i like this is because it's not the colours with show the pattern clearly, if this was black and white, the pattern would still be visible.
I like the two different types of pattern in this image, the repeated shape of lady birds alongside the repeated black spots on their backs. The reason I find this photo inspiring is because I would like to create an image which has more than one type of the element- more than one pattern. This would make my images better in my opinion because at first sight someone would see the more dominant pattern then looking in with more focus they would see the repeated spots.
