During the lesson on the Thursday 10th September, I was giving the task to go into town and take as many photos as I could that held the main focus of the element of colour. I learnt so many new skills in this lesson, such as the zoom and focus and being able to take photos from a far with them still coming out just as well!
A photo I don't like:
This is an image which I don't like because it's of a mosaic full of colour yet I believe that due to the angle it made the colours more mute and ruined the image. So it is clear that I have learnt from this lesson, when taking images of colour, it can be better to do it from straight on- or just when there's better lighting. Another reason why I don't like this image is because I don't like how the colours of the bricks takes focus from the colours of the mosaic.
More examples of colour:
I took these two images because I believe they both had a great sense of analogous colours- which I still believe they do. However, I personally find these images rather boring. They are just images of clothes and shoes really, which you can find in any shop that you walk into. To improve this on trying to find perfect analogous coloured images I would search from objects such as flowers or leaves- things that occur naturally. I would do this because I believe natural images are much better and more appealing for the eye to view.
A photo I do like:
A photo I do like:
I really like this picture however- along with all my other images on my Straight Images post. This is because Even though these two buses are both red, they show a different tone of red to each other. Another reason why I like this photo is because I believe the simplicity of the colours make this intriguing. I also like how on the bus on the right you can mainly just see the back of the bus yet the bus on the left you can see more. The angling of this photo makes this a reason I like this photo.
Progression:
Ways in which I would change if I was given the chance to re-do this photo is to look out for photos which would be better when edited- making it easier for me to choose my straight images. I would also look out for different shades of colour that are shown in the same photo. Additionally, I would keep in mind that less obvious objects would make a better picture, most of the images I took today were of man made items, yet the best colour can come from nature- which I lacked in this photo shoot- although this is rather hard to do whilst in a town. Photos below are examples of inspiration for me to progress colour if I was able to re-do this lesson:
