I really like this photo. The reason behind this is because I really like the way you can see the back of her head and the front and it really helps show tone. Even though the tone is "directly" connected as such, its still the same person and shows the highlight tone on the face and the shadowed tone as the back of her hair. Furthermore, I also like how the mirror and the black and white create and intriguing emotion. Also like how this photo looks quite an old photo. I also like the seriousness of the image joining with the tone across the entire photo, whether it's shadowed or highlighted or just transitional tone to become the shadowed tone part.
This is another photo I wanted to put in my straight images because I purely like the "creepiness" of the doll and how the lighting creating the tone helps convey this horror genre across to the audience. I also like the way there is a clear gamut of tone between the highlight section through the transition to the shadowed area. Just like the one above this was also taken in the studio as I believe this made it much better when conveying this tone onto the doll. I also believe that the editing of the black and white created the atmosphere of creepy a lot more easier alongside the tone of course.
I believe that this image fits in really well with the one above because it also conveys just as well a scariness emotion for the audience to feel. However, unlike the other images on this blog, it is in colour. I done this purposely because I believe this shows tone just as well as the ones in black and white. Notwithstanding the fact the red tinge to the photo adds more to the horror side of the genres. As you can tell, the hand is the most highlighted section and the face becomes more shadowed across. I really like both of these images on the left and right and feel like they really compliment each other really well. Even better, most people would just see the creepy side of the image but when you look deeper within the images you can see tone, this is why I really like these shots.
This is another image that I really like that again is black and white. The contrast of this image was made really high when I was editing because I really like the way the contrast is joined with the black and white with the lighting because this creates a really clear and dominate tone. Additionally, I really like this image because the highlight is all around the camera yet because the camera is so dark is stops being shown as highlighted that much, although the lens holds some of the highlight too. Not to mention the simplicity of the image is another reason for my liking to this image. I really like the way there isn't any distractions behind this image because it was taken in the studio and I also had control on how she was sat with the lighting. Furthermore, I really like the fact that the inside of her hands are completely shadowed, even though I'm not too sure whether or not this is due to the lighting, I still really like it.
Finally, I chose this image because I really like the tone that in shown not just through the flowers at the front then the back, but the petals as well. Through the creases there a harsh change in tones which is why I like it. Another reason for liking this image is because some people might see this photo and think it isn't tone, whereas those who look for tone within the image would soon see there is a clear simplicity of tone conveyed throughout this photo.
